Description

In March of 2021 I bought a 2003 Chevy Silvarado with a rusted out frame for cheap as I needed a vehicle capable of towing a 6800lbs boat for my summer job. I didn't want to spend a whole bunch of money and had the time to fix up the truck before the summer. The main repair I did was welding in three new cross-members into the frame as the original ones had all rusted out completely. I also ended up having to fix a few other things like the fuel pump, brakes, rocker panels, shocks and more. Luckily, older vehicles are reasonably easy to fix. I even ended up re-soldering a resistor on the instrument cluster as apparently it often fails and had failed on my truck. Overall, I learned a bunch from all the repairs I did and the truck served me well towing the boat through two seasons.
