Gap Year Travels

• I learned so much about the world and myself during my gap year travels it is hard to narrow it down

I had known since the beginning of high school that I wanted to take a gap year and travel and had all kinds of ideas about what I would do.  What I ended up doing in actuality was working the summer before traveling on a lobster boat to save up some money, then taking a solo trip to Israel for a month and a half.  After Israel I met up with one of my best friends and traveled without much planning to Spain, India, Nepal, and Indonesia for about three months.  The following summer I worked up in Alaska on a commercial salmon fishing seiner.  I had a great experience working and traveling during this year off from school and would highly recommend taking a gap year to others if they have the chance.  Here is a link to our somewhat informative somewhat humorous travel blog that we tried to keep up with during out trip. https://thetrip2019.wordpress.com/
